Description of objectThe tower of Tanquián was build in the year 1777 and restored, following the principles of bioconstruction, using only natural materials, in the year 2011.
The studio has got its separate entrance and a lot of daylight, ideal for 2 people.
We work the 5,5 ha big smallholding organically since 20 years.
Visitors can observe the daily work or just relax in the hammock.
The surroundings offer various destinations for outings in car or walking.
We offer fresh veg, fruit, eggs and bread, as well as jam and juices of our own production.
Location of objectTanquián is located in the heart of the Ribeira Sacra, well known for it’s excellent wines, like the Amandi, and its numerous churches and monasteries. The breathtaking canyons of the rivers Miño and Sil are just 15km away. If you want to explore the area even more, you can visit the old roman goldmines of the Medula, or the worldheritage forest of “O Courel”. For the beach lovers the Rias Baixas are at 150 km in the west and the north coast of Lugo at the same distance.

Additional InformationThe farm is orientated since the beginning towards self-sufficiency. The 5.5 hectars contain a big vegetable garden, two greenhouses, various orchards, meadows and forest. Since 2008 we run a certified organic jam- and juice kitchen, where we exclusively process our own harvest. At the moment we are keeping chickens, a horse, a donkey, some cats and one dog. |
