Location of objectGamla Pósthúsið (The Old Post House) holiday apartments are located in Sauðárkrókur in the Skagafjörður region of North West Iceland. The building was originally constructed in 1952 and was an active post office until the end of 2008. It is conveniently located in the centre of town, only a few metres walking distance to the bakery, restaurants, museum and harbour. The Old Post House has just undergone major renovations to create two spacious self catering studio apartments, with views of the fjord and the church.
Town: Iceland, Skagafjordur, SaudarkrokurSauðárkrókur is about 290 km, a scenic 3 hr drive from Reykjavik. Situated in the northwest of Iceland Sauðárkrókur is the largest town in the Skagafjörður region. A short detour from the main ring road will bring you to this quiet fishing village, the town of Sauðárkrókur is centrally located to many of the main attractions in the Skagafjörður area and nearby districts. So why not stay for a night or two and explore the town and surrounding areas before continuing back on to the main circle route.
