Description of objectFarm Residence “Soncy” is a unique accommodation just outside the Western Zeeland Flanders village of Groede. Here you can enjoy the quiet of the country, the space of our accommodation and the natural beauty. In short: you can experience country life.
Our guests stay in luxurious, modern apartments, situated in a characteristic barn. The original barn from 1865 served as a model for our new building from 2004. It is fitted with modern comforts but radiates the rural atmosphere of former days.
In addition to the four apartments we also offer a group-accommodation for larger groups of maximal 24 persons. This accommodation is especially suitable for family-reunions, workshops, staff outings or business meetings. The rural atmosphere of Groede and the quality of our accommodation guarantee a relaxed and comfortable stay.
Our farm residence offers four completely furnished apartments and a large recreation room, all of them with central heating. All apartments offer lots of privacy and are to let separately. The apartments overlook the splendid polder landscape and all have an entrance of their own. The recreation room links the apartments. That’s why our farm also is the perfect holiday resort for larger groups up to 24 persons. Each apartment can accommodate 6 persons and a baby if any. Babychairs and campingbeds are available.
Each apartment has three bedrooms, a bathroom and a livingroom with a luxurious open kitchen. The spacious terraces with modern outside furniture and barbeque overlook a large playing field. This field is a really multi-purpose area: it can be used for playing soccer, having a picnic or taking a sun-bath.
There are two larger bedrooms, each of them with two single beds which can be twinned. The smaller bedroom has a bunk bed. The bathroom is fitted with bath, separate shower, toilet and wash-stand.
The apartments on the ground floor have a second toilet. The kitchen is provided with an oven, a micro wave, a gas stove, a fridge / freezer combination and a dishwasher. Each apartment has its own washing-machine, tumbler-dryer and ironing-board. In the livingroom you find a colour tv with cable connection, music centre and dvd player. Wireless internet is available.
Location of objectJust outside the village, at about a four kilometers’ distance from “Soncy”, you find the beautiful Zeeland Flanders coastal area. Here you can discover what Zeeland is so famous for: magnificent wide and (last but not least !) clean sandbeaches. And, by the way, the number of sun hours in Zeeland is well above the national average.
In the Groede surroundings bikers, walkers and horseriders are coddled with an extensive network of cycling- , walking- , and riding-tracks. In this way you can enjoy the varying landscape and (in addition to the beaches) discover the splendour and vastness of the polders with characteristics such as island- and dike-structures and pollard-willows. For those who want to explore the wider region, interesting small town such as Aardenburg and Sluis, and of course the historic cultural cities of Bruges and Ghent are a must.

Here you can do your daily shopping at the baker’s and the grocer’s, rent a bike, have a drink at the local terrace or stroll the village centre and enjoy the historic atmosphere. Don’t forget to pay a visit to the well-known “The Flemish Heritage” at the Slijkstraat.
In this small museumstreet you go back into yesterday’s world with a hairdresser’s, grocer’s, baker’s, carpenter’s, café, little theatre and so much more. From a culinary point of view Groede is also attractive. There are restaurants in several price-brackets with attractive menus.
