Description of objectThe house was recently restored and modified to correspond with latest building requirements.The ground floor entrance has a laundry with wash machine, dryer and toilet. There is a small area for storage and a coat rack. A staircase leads up to an open plan area with a fully equipped kitchen including a four burner hob, oven, dishwasher, Freezer/fridge,coffee machine, toaster and kettle. A good range of kitchen utensils,frying pans and saucepans. There is adequate tableware for six people. A dinning area with table and six chairs. The lounge has armchairs and a sofa. A CD player, HiFi and television. WiFi is available. The 2nd floor has two bedroom (one double bed the other two single beds) Between the bedrooms is the bathroom with bath/shower, wash stand and toilet. All bed linen and towels are provided at no extra charge. A cot is available if requested. All rooms have central heating. Location of objectDetails of some of the places to visit during you stay in Ginestas.Beaches. There a number of good sandy beaches along this coast of the Mediterranean, for example. Narbonne Plage. Several good beaches those close to town are crowded in summer but there are several on the west side which have more space. One has an Aqua-Park which is very popular with the children. During the summer months there are various open air concerts and activities. Gruissan. An old fishing village which better know for its port for pleasure boats with many restaurants and shops. On the west side of town there is the fishing village and a road going out to a long beach and a complex of little holiday houses built on stilts. Further through this estate is the little harbor for the boats working on the oyster beds.. You can buy and eat oysters and other shell fish directly from the fishermen at tables along the waters edge. Port la Nouvelle. A commercial harbor but on the east side of town, one of the longest (4km) and widest (500m) beaches in this area which is also part of a nature reserve. Cabins de Fleurie. The river passes the village and marks the border between the departments of Aude and Herault. There is a lot of fishing along the banks of the river. There are two large beaches one on the Aude side and on the Herault side of the river. Narbonne. The cathedral is in excellent condition and is situated in the center of the City. A morning visit to the covered market with its local products, followed by a walk through the colorful open market. In the summer months there are open air concerts in the town center. Abbey de Frontfroid. An Abbey which was restored by a private family and is perhaps on of the most attractive Abbeys in this region of France. Open everyday with guided tours. There is a restaurant in the grounds of the Abbey. City of Carcassonne. The biggest castle in this area. Sitting on a hill the wall of the castle encloses a little village which today are restaurants and various tourist shops. Bages. A fishing village situated on the coast west of Narbonne. Little stone built houses perched on a hill over looking the bay.. The surrounding land is a natural reserve going down to the next village of Peyriac de Mer. Peryriac de Mer. The most attractive route to arrive at Peyriac is from Bages. You pass through the natural reserve with salt marshes, which during several months of the year, are the home for flocks of flamingos. From the west side of the village you can drive or walk across to the other side of the bay then walk along the waters edge for several km. Fort de Salses. A castle built as a defensive weapon to stop raiders and armies coming from Spain. Very well restored. Guided tours are provided. Minerve A village dating back to prehistoric , build on a rock between two rivers. Was besieged at the time of the Cathars and all the inhabitants killed when the siege fell. One of the rivers over time forced it's way through the ground round the village. In a dry spell it is possible to walk through the tunnel. (See photo) Collioure A one time fishing village in a small bay. Very attractive village with little houses and lots of flowers. The little church on the edge of the beach is worth a visit. Museums and Galleries Montpelliere Museum Favre. Situated in the center of Montpliere Reopened last year with a significant collection of paintings. In the summer months the park outside the museum has various free concerts and activities. Enserune A museum on the site of a roman village part of which is visible. The Museum is small but has some interest exhibits. There ia an excellent view over the fields. Albi Museum Toulouse-Lautrec. This is the home town of Toulouse-Lautrec. A large number of his paintings, which were owned by his family, were given to the town and are now hung in the Museum. An interesting collection of paintings and drawings going back to his youth. The cathedral is very impressive and is claimed to be the largest brick built Cathedral in Europe. Caves. There are a number of caves in the area, the largest is the cave of Cabrespine. Not far the cave is a restored windmill. Visits are provided and you can see the production of flour. Town: France, Longuedoc-Roussillon, GinestasThe village of Ginestas has a population of 1100 people.Originally a walled village which is frequent in this area.The center village has a backer,general store, news-agent a few 100 meters further on is the Post and Bank. A chemist shop is close by and there is a doctor in the village. A little further there are stables were you can take lessons or go through the fields. The wine fields which surround the village provide numerous walks.
