Description of objectOur 200 years old typical Sicilian stonehouse is named 'Timpa aruci'; it is located at 2km from Modica (UNESCO Patrimony of the Humanity) in the Sicily’s historic south-east district, best known for the Baroque architecture. It is restructuring and it will start next July. It is the ideal place for discovering the enchantment of Modica, the suggestive charm of Noto, the suggestion of Sicily, the wonderful Mediterranean sea. Enchanting scenery, where hills stretch to the sea as far as the eyes can see and century-old carrubo trees dominate the landscape, we give hospitality to our guests and our friends in a family environment. The whole property is in 2 hectares. The swimming-pool is carved into the rock of the countryside. From the swimming-pool set you may enjoy a fascinating view on the Mediterranean sea 10km. During the summer you can dine in the garden in your private area.Location of objectAll the rooms are furnished with king size double beds and have private entrance. Extra beds available.The rooms are large, comfortable with armchairs, table, LCD TV, satellite. From the room views of the surrounding hillside to the Mediterranean Sea. Cot bed available with pillow and sheets. Towels, bed linen included. Bathrooms: All 6 bathrooms are furnished by luxury mosaic panels and design furniture; they all have shower, bidet and wc. Each room is equipped with small fridge. If you want to prepare breakfast or meals for yourselves, a shared kitchen is available; it is equipped with gas cooker and electric oven, fridge, freezer, microwave, dishes. Shared dining area is furnished with chairs and tables; there is available internet access. Further details outdoors: The houses are not fenced as guests are able to walk anywhere as they are on a private estate of 2 hectares border on a public natural site where you can jogging, go mountain biking or simply enjoy nature. The private swimming pool is 8m x 13m. Deep is from 1.20m to 2,50m. A covered gazebo provides shade, sunbeds and deck chairs are provided. Town: Italy, Sicilia, Modicaf you’re looking for a quiet getaway Modica may be the place for you, with its small population and secluded, clean beaches it could be the perfect getaway. Modica is simply jaw-droppingly beautiful. Having been destroyed by a huge earthquake in 1693, the whole town was rebuilt in a Baroque style, giving it a unique, unified style. The town clings to the side of a gorge, with houses, churches and palaces seemingly built on top of each other in a shambolic yet truly appealing style. Modica is off the beaten track in Sicily, which is a huge surprise, yet a real advantage for those who do travel to a Modica villa as the culture is completely untainted.Walking through the town upon your arrival is a real treat. The whole region has been placed on the UNESCO World Heritage area, with 18 specific buildings placed under protection by them. You will certainly be inspired by the brilliance and beauty of the town, especially when you discover the Duomo di San Giorgio and San Pietro, the Castello della Contea and the astonishing Barocco buildings The beaches that surround Modica are beautifully empty all year round. The lack of tourist crowds mean that the beaches are clean and secluded, perfect for lazy days in the sun. Tourist facilities are thin on the beaches, but if you want to go sailing or scuba diving, there are ample opportunities. The secluded nature of the town has meant that the culture is quite unique to Modica. The dialect can be hard for even Italians to understand, and the dishes served in the restaurants, including panatigghie, a pastry filled with meat, cinnamon and cocoa, cannot be found anywhere else. If you will stay in Timparuci holiday farmhouse, a tour of local restaurants will be a fantastic experience, and if you are feeling adventurous, there are plenty of opportunities to take a recipe and re-create Modica cuisine in your own, self catering accommodation.
