The kitchen is well equipped with eye level oven/grill and hob fridge microwave washing machine. Table and chairs for 8 people. Upstairs there are 3 bedrooms and a bathroom. The master bedroom has a double and single bed plus a fold up bed. 2nd bedroom has a double bed singe bed and a cot. 3rd bedroom has a single bed. All bedrooms has ample storage. The bathroom has bath and separate shower. Off road parking for 2 cars with path leading to property throw secluded garden. There is 2 patios, Ideal for relaxing ETC plus B.B.Q Strawberry fields has great views of the moors and the Mendips. An ideal base to explore local attractions plus great walks and bike rides. Location of objectStrawberry Fields is a charming cottage situated in the village of Draycott, 2 miles from Cheddar, standing at the foot of the Mendip Hills with views of the Somerset Levels - a beautiful, quiet and relaxed part of the West Country. With two pubs, a local Post office and farm shops Draycott is a great place to use as a base for exploring Somerset.Cheddar Gorge and the famous caves are only 2 miles by car, or if you prefer, there are plenty of walks that will take you to the gorge via the scenic route, returning by bus if you wish! The cottage itself is set down a quiet country lane and is the ideal retreat for a holiday away from the hustle and bustle of daily life, or as a base for walkers to begin their rambles from; there are a great many interesting and varied walks to be discovered, and many places of interest in our area to visit, for example the impressive Wells Cathedral, or Cheddar Gorge and Caves! Within easy reach you will find Glastonbury, with its Tor and Abbey, plus the nearby Clarks Village Shopping Outlet if you fancy a bit of retail therapy after your walk up to the Tor! Draycott is and ideal location to return to year after year. A must to see in November is the famous West Country Carnival - a celebration that dates back to the Gun Powder Plot of 1605! It is also a superb area for bike riding, with plenty of cycle routes, for example to Cheddar or across the moors to Burnham-on-Sea, and let's not forget the beautiful Ebbor Gorge Nature Reserve that is practically on our doorstep. We have a well stocked, south facing garden with a barbeque and patio, so if unwinding is more for you it's easy to just relax at home in lovely peaceful surroundings. Burnham-on-Sea has a fine esplanade and seafront overlooking Bridgwater Bay and the distant Welsh coast. The Levels This unique landscape of low-lying wetlands gives rise to a rich wildlife which is of international significance. Meadows, edged by 'rhynes' - water courses that are overhung by willow trees, create a tranquil, timeless atmosphere for relaxing and unwinding. The gentle, undulating terrain and quiet roads make it perfect countryside for walking and cycling where the slower pace makes it easier to spot herons, wildfowl and birds of prey, damsel and dragonflies at close quarters Cheddar and the Mendip Hills The area has been a destination of travellers for centuries, each one curious to view the magnificent limestone Gorge carved into the southern slopes of the Mendip Hills above the village of Cheddar. Reaching 500 feet in places the sides of the ravine boast the highest inland cliffs in the country and can be viewed both from the public road running through the base of the Gorge or from footpaths along the cliff tops.
