Located in the heart of the hilly region of Lesser Poland (Malopolska), 40km from Krakow and 100km from Zakopane, Potoczek gives you a chance to spend a quiet holiday in the Beskid Mountains far from the crowds and urban bussle, or to visit Krakow - one of Poland's most beautiful cities. You might fancy a trip to Zakopane, Poland's 'winter capital' at the foot of the Tatra Mountains. From your Potoczek base you are well placed for all these pleasures and on any day you can combine resting in the countryside with sightseeing and hiking. Just at the end of your south facing garden you will find ICPPC Ecocentre, one of the first fully integrated small scale ecological demonstration sites in Poland. Here you can learn about clay-straw building, organic gardening, renewable energy for the home, grey water systems and much more - and you can even book-in for a course and learn about the challenge of self sufficiency from a local Polish farmer. Location of objectPotoczek has a nice spacious garden where one can sit and relax, hear the calling of song birds , sunbathe and enjoy a barbecue or a campfire. The garden is fenced, so parents can be sure that their children are safe. Younger children can also play in the garden sandpit. Near the house there is also a small swimming-pool.In the garden there is an old smithy, where you can see original blacksmith's tools form the first half of 20th century, and a barn. Both the smithy, which is made of stone, and the wooden barn contribute to the atmosphere of Potoczek and give it a country touch. Town: Poland, Beskid Maly, near Krakow, Stryszow near KrakowPotoczek is located in Stryszow, southern Poland. It is located in a beautiful hilly region of Lesser Poland, very close to the Beskid Mountains and not far from the Tatra Mountains. It is a wonderful place for walking, hiking, cycling, taking pictures and painting. You can take walks in the woods and fields and admire the beauty of nature. You can also visit the tourist attractions in the area and region. There are plenty of them.7 km: UNESCO-listed Baroque Monastery in Kalwaria Zebrzydowska The Basilica of Our Lady of the Angels and a pilgrimage park with a chapel complex (Via Dolorosa and Our Lady's Chapels. On a hill near the market square (10 minutes' walk) there are ruins of a medieval castle. 20 km: Wadowice Pope John Paul II's birthplace. The Pope House is open to visitors. Wadowice has a nice market square and a beautiful Basilica of Our Lady. You should definitely try the town's famous Pope's cakes called “kremowki” - they are delicious. 40 km: Krakow There are so many interesting things to see in Krakow that you will certainly not regret visiting the it. Once the seat of the Polish kings and the capital of Poland, Krakow is now one of the most beautiful cities in Europe. 100 km: Zakopane Zakopane is located at the foot of the Tatra Mountains. It has a very good infrastructure for tourists who come to the city both in winter (to ski) and in summer (to hike). CateringCatering: breakfast (extra)Additional InformationWe offer you a comfortable house with two apartments, each with 2 double bedrooms, a sitting-room, a bathroom, a toilet and a small kitchen. The house can accommodate up to 8 people (4 in each apartment). If necessary, the sitting-room can also be used as a bedroom for 2 additional people in each apartment.The house was originally built half a century ago but it was refurbished in 2006. All the rooms are fully furnished in a nice and pleasant style. In the sitting-room there is a TV set. In the kitchen there is a fridge and an electrical cooker. Potoczek is and ideal place for families. Children can play in the garden. Pets are welcome. The house and the garden are at the disposal of the guests only. We will take care of everything and make sure that our guests have a nice stay here but at the same time respect their privacy. |
