Town: Italy, Lecce, AlezioThe town of Alezio is small village with 5000 inhabitants, founded in the 6th Century BC by an ancient Greek tribe 'Messaps', it still retains its historical look, with a necropolis and a XII century church. Alezio is a typical southern Italian old town, enriched with local traditions, such as religious street parties, colourful houses and stone paved roads, located 5km from the sea (Gallipoli) and surrounded by vineyards and olive groves.Traditional restaurants, bars, bakeries, wine cellars and olive oil producers.
