Town: Turkey, Kalkan, Patara Prince ResortNestled at the bottom of the Taurus mountains pretty Kalkan bursting with traditional Turkish charm descends to the sea in a maze of quaint narrow cobbled streets and whitewashed houses with trailing bougainvillea to the picturesque harbour.
Only a fifteen minute pleasant walk from the apartment Kalkan has a number of excellent reasonably priced roof top restaurants with unrivalled friendly service and wonderful views over the bay. The combination of small boutiques, intimate bars and lovely restaurants make kalkan a truly beautiful place to be and a setting for a very memorable holiday. If you don't want to leave the romantic setting of Patara Prince you have a choice of restaurants that also offer very high standards of food, excellent service and reasonable prices.
If you can tear yourself away from the beach platforms at Patara Prince with direct access into the clear turquoise sea, Kalkan has its own pretty pebble beach down by the harbour and there are other superb beaches near by. You can also take a ‘Gullet' trip on a traditional Turkish boat from the harbour. This is a wonderful day when staff cater for your every need and you can spend the hours snorkelling in the clear waters around the local bays, lunch and afternoon tea are also provided to make this a very relaxing experience.
In addition to this Kalkan also holds a market every Thursday when all the locals from the surrounding areas come to sell their produce from fruit and veg to Turkish carpets. This is an experience not to be missed!
