Description of objectThe Lemonia house is our most authentic house with the most typical village features of all our houses. The ceiling is with the old wooden beams and small chunks of wood, the way they used to build in the very past. All the woodwork in the house is hand carved. The house is called Lemonia house because there was a lemon tree in the courtyard that gave lemons both winter and summer. When we took the house however the lemon tree had died, so we had to take it out. And that spot now has flowers and chili plants growing.Lemonia house is a stone-built house made before 1900 (year that was first registered) with original handmade pebble floors. The last renovation finished in 2012, when we got all the renovated. The house consists of one kitchen, a living room, a bedroom, 1 big bathroom, an extra toilet, one big interior courtyard and there is a roof terrace as well, with sun beds. The kitchen has a high sleeper with double bed placed on the wooden platform and a small stairs leading on to it. The living room has 2 high sleepers with each a single bed. The high sleepers each have their own stairs going up, and curtains in front of it, for privacy. Then there is also a separate bedroom with a double bed. The large living room offers a discrete comfort adjusted to the village\'s style with many of it\'s original furniture. The kitchen is fully equipped with all devices for a comfortable stay and with direct access to the bedroom and also to the courtyard. The interior courtyard leads to another toilet and has a nice barbeque. The privacy that the courtyard has to offer makes it ideal for outdoor dining and for sunbathing, one can go up the stairs to a roof terrace with table set and sun loungers. The house is equipped with a washing machine, a dish washer, free Wi-Fi, a telephone for incoming calls. Inside: Coming into the living room, the first thing that jumps out are the high rustic wooden beamed ceilings, the beautiful mosaic pebbled floor, the large arch that crosses the whole room and supports the roof and the beautiful hand carved wood work of which the raised platform beds are made. These 4 aspects are the most typical aspects of a Greek village or farm house. There are large couches that can be used as single sofa beds, and there are 2 high raised platforms to the right, each on a different side of the arch. They are reachable with their own stairs, with curtains in front for privacy and they both have a single mattress placed on the wooden floor, as used to be common in past days. From the living room one can enter the separate bedroom, with double bed, and the bathroom. From the bathroom one can enter the kitchen, but the kitchen can also be entered from the courtyard. The kitchen is long and at the end of it, there is a platform again with a double mattress reachable with a small stairs and curtains in front of it for privacy. From the kitchen one can also reach the courtyard. Outside: Coming in from the iron door, one enters onto the courtyard. At the left hand side there is a toilet, and the rest of the courtyard with a dining table and a b.b.q. the floor is covered with the beautiful chochlakia, the small pebbles that are hand picked at the beach and laid in a beautiful mosaic pattern, stone by stone. Nowadays priceless if a craftsman can be found at all, since there are little craftsman left that can do this difficult job. In the courtyard there is a stairs leading to the roof terrace that has a few sun beds and a small table with seats. The roof terrace is walled and therefore private for sunbathing. Lemonia is in the street kleovoulo number 9. The street is a typical Greek street in a typical friendly Greek neighborhood. The people always welcome our guests heartedly and are always happy to see new faces coming to spend their holiday in ‘their street and village’. They can chat with you easily but leave you fully in peace as well. They just like to say a friendly hello and good morning, and show you their home made food and typicality’s of their house hold. And if you are to bring a bottle of wine, they will welcome you to sit at the table with them, at the street closeby the Lemonia house, and laugh about their naughty jokes. Most of the people you will see sitting outside on the street are the granny’s and their grand children. A perfect place for families, but also groups of friends love the Lemonia house as the walls are high and the privacy big. Lemonia is located in the traditional precinct of the old village of Koskinou in the island of Rhodes. The village is less than ten minutes drive from Rhodes Medieval and New town and five minutes from the near-by Kalithea beach. It is famous for it \'s local sweets \'melekounia\' (honey and sesame sweets), it\'s wood bakeries and it\'s many taverns with local food. Location of objectThis house is stuated on a quiet and narrow street meaning you have no problems with traffic or noise. You are only a 5 minute drive to the main road that takes you into Rhodes city or a two minute walk to a shop to buy your daily essentials. You can also park the car just around the corner.Town: Greece, Rhodes area, KoskinouThis is a fabulous village where you will experience Greek life. You will expect to see families living, children playing and friendly neighbours. Sharing time and a drink is common with the locals, you can learn from them about the area and they can learn about you and your language.
