Description of objectWe are living the dream – Why not sample a taste of it for yourself? Welcome “Au Passage du Gois” in Beauvoir-sur-Mer, located at the splendid Vendée coastline, holiday region pre-eminently in the Atlantic Loire area. A lot of sun, sea and beaches and still less than 400 kilometres from the port of Cherbourg and approx. 200 km north of Bordeaux. The Vendée is well known for its beautiful sandy beaches, but also known for it’s micro climate! The most sunshine hours of France after the Rivièra (only the beer is much cheaper in the Vendée!). For this reason a visit in each season is worthwhile. Come and discover it for yourself. There are both at the coast and inland a lot of nice curiosities and activities. You can read more about it on our website www.aupassagedugois.com. We let out a brand-new holiday cottage (4-5 pers.), with 2 sleeping rooms, which is built in the old sheep stable. We also let out the main house (1810) with 4 bedrooms (6-8 pers.). In addition we have B&B - Chambres d'hôtes and this means that you can spend the night in one of the rooms in the main house or one of the two rooms on the court yard. On walking distance and the entrance of the Passage du Gois, there are 3 restaurants, but you can also join us at our own superb table d'hôte dinners. With its 240 kilometres long coast line, of which 140 kilometres are fine sandy beaches, the Vendée is one of the best holiday-regions of France. The coast has something to offer everyone. This varies from picturesque fishing towns, rock formations, islands off the coast (Ile Noirmoutier and Ile d’Yeu) to sociable and lively coastal places and of course the Passage du Gois and its splendid nature, particularly birds. For those who enjoy sports there are many varied choices, such as several surfing possibilities (windsurfing, kite surfing and sand sailing), golfing on the golf courses along the sea, walking, cycling and horseback riding. For children there are apart from the beaches the water parks, zoos and aquariums. The Vendée is also known for its rich history, of which still a lot remains. This is mainly visible in the green undulating inland countryside better known as the Bocage. There are several museums, historical monuments, castles and abbeys to visit. We have all the documentation available. You can find an overview at the website of the local tourist office of the Vendée www.vendeetourisme.com. An attraction especially not to miss, is the historical amusement park Puy du Fou (a fantastic journey through 2000 years of history). Just like the coast the bocage is well known for its large variety of walking tours and bicycle possibilities along the several lakes and rivers, as well as the wine regions in the south of the Vendée. See you soon.Location of objectLa Bergerie (4 à 5 persons)Description Our brand-new holiday cottage "la Bergerie" has a spacious and light L-shaped living room with a white open kitchen. The character of the house is enhanced by original beamed ceilings. The roof has been covered with rustic wooden panels. There is a separate toilet and a spacious bathroom with a blue mosaic floor, which really sparkles. The are two double bedrooms, one containing a double box spring bed, and one containing two single box spring beds. On request a cot or an extra bed is available. There is a TV and CD/dvd-player. For a small amount per person extra you can have your beds made ready for your arrival, and towels at your disposal. However, if you prefer to bring your own bed linen and towels, then this is also possible of course. Practical The kitchen is fully equipped for cooking and we have provided cookery books and magazines in several languages. There is of course a dishwasher, a washing machine and a fridge with a freezing compartment. For your convenience, cloths, tea-towels and towels are provided, as well as a basic stock of coffee, tea, sugar, condiments and herbs. All we ask in that you kindly replace what you have used before you go home. There are several hypermarkets and bakeries in Beauvoir-sur-Mer. Leisure For both houses there is enough space to park two cars. In the garden of the cottages there are chairs and a table so you can have your breakfast “al fresco”, a number of sun loungers, a parasol and BBQ are also at your disposal. You can quietly read the information which we have put together for you, about the curiosities of the Vendée, as well as the walking routes which we recommend from our own experience. When you want to eat out at night, there are 3 restaurants within walking distance (700m/ ½ a mile) at the entrance of the Passage the Gois or several more in Beauvoir-sur-Mer only 4 km (2 ½ miles) away. You are welcome to join us at one of our own special table d'hôte dinners. We gladly tell you more about it, as well as the possibility for your croissants and baguettes to be brought to you in the morning or even a complete breakfast.
