Spring 2011. Great Apartment & Great Landlords. It is a nice get-away, rest and relaxtion place and the area is fantastic. Everyone is so helpful. You couldn\'t ask for more.

Having found it incredibly difficult to find an apartment to rent in Albania, we were delighted to discover this apartment in Ksamil. We were met on arrival by the owner Alexander and instantly made to feel very welcome. The apartment itself was very modern, spotlessly clean and extremely spacious - including a large terrace with sea views. The nearest beach and restaurant are 100 metres away and even though we were there during August the relaxing beach was never too busy and there were always sun-beds available. There are 3 supermarkets, 2 ATMs and a range of restaurants in the town. A 20 minutes walk along a coastal promenade leads to a number of busy but beautiful sandy beaches with amazing views of a number of small islands (which you can swim to) and Corfu in the distance. Alexander and Ulinda were extremely friendly, generous and helpful – nothing was too much trouble. They were always on hand to answer any questions we had but in no way intruded on our privacy. We originally intended to stay a week but as we enjoyed the lovely apartment, hospitality and peaceful setting so much we ended up staying 2!

The photos on this site do not represent the true quality of this apartment. It is superb and very spacious with cooking facilities and it is kept to a very high standard. There are shutters and insect nets on all windows which is important in this part of the world. Ksmali itself does have a lot of development (no building work takes place in summer months) but the apartment is minutes from the sea, wonderful prommenade and beaches. It is situated to enjoy wonderful cooling sea breezes and beautiful views, particularly at sunset. I would certainly reccomend this location over Sarande itself. Albania is what it is, the roads are in a state of development, getting aroud is maybe not as easy as in the West if you want to travel long distances but this was not ever a problem for us. Everyone we met was extremely welcoming and there are great beeches, restaurants, a supermarket and two cashpoints. The food here is amazing, organic and fresh. I do not eat meat so I was spoilt with an amazing selection of seafood. Eating out is very good value by Western standards. What really made our holiday special was the warm welcome and ongoing hospitality from Alexsander, Linda and their family. We were met at the ferry port, Linda did some of our washing and cooked us mussels, Alexsander took us on tours and rang the pharmacy for us, Jim watched the world cup with the men of the family..... the list is endless. We were made part of the family yet were still given space as needed. Alexsander\'s English is excellent and Linda also speaks a fair amount. We travelled with our three year old who had the best time because there were plenty of children to play with and she was given a small gift in every shop or location we went to. I loved this part of the world which its beautiful beaches and attractions. I have never felt so safe and welcomed in any part of the world. I am sure that despite the many guest houses springing up in the area (and having seen their location and room size) you can not beat this property for value or more importantly quality.
