If you are looking for a relaxing holiday or weekend getaway – far from the hustle and bustle of city life, yet close to civilization – Pringle Bay is the place to go. This quiet and relaxed village has plenty to offer. It is situated only 67 km from Cape Town International Airport, along the Whale Coast in the unique Kogelberg Biosphere.
Pringle Bay’s beautiful white sandy beach is surrounded by sand dunes on the one side and the ocean on the other. The beach is about 2 km long and set against a backdrop of mountains covered by our unique and beautiful fynbos. Across the ocean you can see Table Mountain. The river mouth is the favorite spot for children.
The gravel roads add to the feeling of relaxed holiday mode and traffic cannot be heard from the R44. As there are no street lights the beauty of the African night sky can be enjoyed without light pollution.

If you wish to enjoy the beauty of nature stroll along the beach or take one of the many hikes in the area. Harold Porter Botanical Garden is only 10 minutes’ drive from Pringle Bay, there you can go for a stroll or hike. In Bettys Bay you can rent boards and go sand boarding on the dunes against the mountain – lots of fun for all ages, or why not visit the penguin colony. During winter stop along the beautiful Clarence Marine drive to spot the magnificent Sothern Right Whales.
Pringle Bay and its area is a favourite spot for beaches, hiking, fishing, surfing, whale watching and bird viewing.
