Description of objectVilla Dafni is an exclusive holiday property located in the ancient town of Vouno, Chios.The villa was built some time pior to 1850 for an affluent family of farmers. In 2009 the neglected property was meticulously restored by a couple of Athens based engineers as a labor of love. The house has a fantastic array of original features, thick stone walls, exposed beams and flagstones. The decor is a mix of antiques and contemporary pieces that merge beautifully together. From the terraces you can enjoy spectacular vistas across the mastic and olive trees to the blue waters of the Aegean Sea and the peninsula of Erytha in Turkey beyond. A kitchenette on the terrace provides for relaxing alfresco dining and wining in addition to handy cool drinks during your sunbathing sessions. You may want to start your day by having your coffee sitting comfortably on the stone bench on the \\\' sokaki\\\' beside the house fountain and across a lovely small church. ( \\\' sokaki\\\' means traditional village street where people gathered to exchange news in front of their homes).
Ground floor : Entering from the left main entrance a hall leads to the staircase on the left and the kitchen to the far end. The right front door opens to a double bedroom with additional sleeping space for up to 2 persons ( modern double bed, antique closet, sofa bed and chaise lonque ). The bathroom features a generous corner bath, plus a shower clad in pebble floor tiling and a fitted basin. All the rooms inclusive the bathroom have high vaulted ceilings. 1st floor: Going upstairs a corridor leads to the master ensuite bedroom on the right and the main kitchen on the left. Through the kitchen you enter into the living/ dining room which is at a slightly elevated level. The master bedroom features an antique bed,a jacuzzi shower which is descretly hidden by a silk antique curtain. Wardrobe and doors are original to the house. A newly hand crafted door leads to the small WC. The bedroom is adorned by a chandelier hanging from the high vault. The main kitchen features a stone fireplace and is fully equipped with cooking plates, electric cooker, dish washer, fridge and freezer. The living room is dressed with a wooden bench typical of the island, antique table, chairs and armchair. Additional sleeping space can arranged either in the master bedroom or in the living room. Terraces: A second staircase leads to an array of terraces of different levels , which cover an area of around 70 sqm in total. From there you can enjoy a 360 degree view of the village, the sea and the countryside. A kitchenette facilitates outdoors cooking, cooling and storage. In the property there is a washing machine, iron and hairdryers. Due to the age and the high ceilings of the property, the staircase from the ground floor to the first floor is rather steep, which may be a little awkward for some guests. Bedlinen, outdoors furniture and beach umbrellaas will be at your disposal... however please bring your own beach towels.
Location of object 1. From the Omiros Airport of Chios you drive south on your right following the Avenue Christou to Michalinou. 2. You turn right in the Michalinou Ave. 3. When you see a car centre you turn left in the Chandris str ( you are now at the backside of the airport). 4. In the junction you turn left following the sign to \\\' Kallimasia\\\' and continue passing through the Kampos area 5. Left turn to \\\' Mesta - Nenita\\\'. 6. You pass the villages of Neochori, Kallimasia, Agios Emilianos and Katarraktis and you see the sign of \\\'Nenita\\\'. 11 You don\\\'t enter in Nenita but you follow the sign to \\\'Vouno\\\'. 12. Immediately after the Jet petrol station you turn left following the sign \\\' Lilikas- Agios Ioannis\\\'. There is a parking space on your left where you can park. Villa Dafni is a couple of meters away. There is a number of rent-a- car operators in Chios. Typically you can take and leave your rented vehicle in the airport. If you wish assistance please let us know in advance especially if your visit is scheduled in summer.
