Description of objectCome and visit the new 'New Tuscany'. Our cottage nestles into the magical hills of the Alto Monferrato. On the Piemonte-Liguria borders. An ideal centre for visiting Northern Italy.Well known for its food, wine and magnificent scenery, this now candidate UNESCO World heritage castle and wine region is only a short drive from many locations, including the Italian Riviera. The cottage is situated by a quiet road, popular for scenic walks, near to the sought after medieval castle village of Tagliolo Monferrato. It is surrounded by vineyards and wine cellars. From the front door there are views to the castle and panoramic sunsets. In the distance other hill top villages and castles and mountains. Roveta hamlet enjoys the stunning backdrop of the Cappane di Marcarolo National Park and its mountains. There are beautiful walks all around and tracks suitable for cycling. Swimming and horse riding are nearby The cottage easily accommodates up to 6 people and is newly furnished and decorated. It has been traditionally restored maintaining its strong rustic character. The well equipped kitchen has a lovely arch and antique flooring. It has 2 bathrooms, one en-suite and 2 lounges with charming antique character features and real wood fires for the Autumn. To the front of the cottage there is parking for 2 cars (not to be under-valued) and to the rear a courtyard with flower beds and garden furniture. Location of objectThere is much exploring to do in and around Tagliolo, but for those who want to venture further afield, the cottage is an ideal touring base.The historic market town of Ovada is 5 minutes away and Acqui Terme a Roman Spa town about 30 mins. away. The cultural centres of Milan and Turin are about 90 mins away. The spectacular Italian Riviera is only 30 mins away. The World Heritage palaces of genova are not to be missed, as are historic centre. From the port you can take short cruises to the Cinque Terre and beyond. The whole region enjoys lively festivals where local wines and food may be sampled, from early summer to late autumn. Town: Italy, Genova, Tagliolo MonferratoTagliolo is a very pretty medieval village with views to the National Park. It's castle is one of the best in the region.There are several good quality restaurants, bars and a range of shops. Local vineyards offer wine tasting.
