Description of objectCasa Lena was built in 1994 and all rooms are decorated in warm, bright colours, with a modern open living room. At the same time Casa Lena has the flair of a traditional Portuguese country home, the premises of about 6000 m² being surrounded rustic stone walls. Carobs, olives, agaves, stone oaks and all the typical indigenous flora of the Algarve can be found in the garden. Casa Lena sleeps 2 to 5. For a group of up to 7 guests you can also book the studio "Casinha" which sleeps 2. With tiled, comfortable patios and quiet corners, Casa Lena is an ideal place to relax in, and there are plenty of sun loungers, sun shades and garden furniture.
With 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms Casa Lena offers spacious, but private accommodation over 100m². On the ground floor of the main house (Casa Lena) there is one bedroom with a very comfortable convertible sofa bed (1,40m wide), one bedroom with a single bed and a bathroom with a bath tub and toilet. On the open plan 1st floor with air conditioning there is a sleeping area with a king size bed, a bathroom with a shower and toilet, and a living area with a cosy sofa and a TV. There is direct access to your own private roof terrace patio with views over the surrounding countryside and over to the Atlantic. Downstairs there is more seating where you can relax and enjoy your peace and quiet. The south facing lounge has a fireplace, a small reading-corner and a large dining table. In the entrance hall there is a further table with chairs and a bench. The fully equipped kitchen is between the entrance hall and the lounge.
"Casinha" (ca. 20m²), the studio, is located about 20 meters away from the main house,. Please note that the studio can only be booked together with Casa Lena. The studio comprises of a living-sleeping room with 2 twin beds, a dining table, a tiny kitchinette, 1 bathroom with shower and toilet. Casinha is an ideal retreat for older children, mother and father in law, or couples in love...
Location of objectOlhão is only 15 km from Faro airport. Within a 50 km stretch from Faro via Olhão to Manta Rota, you are entering the world famous and attractive nature reserve "Ria Formosa". Olhão's architecture features the famous Cubic white Algarvian houses, with their sunroofs, a style that is descended from the Arabs and is a symbol of Olhão along with the enormous high chimneys with the storks nesting on the top. If you walk through the streets of this town, you will feel the spirit of hard working men and fishing life here. It has a wonderful fish market and opposite is the vegetable and fruit market, open from Monday to Saturday. Around the market there are some cafés to take a break in, international press, bakeries, everything you wish. The adjoining "Avenida 5 de Outubro" is the main street for restaurants and bars, but do venture into the charming old part of the city, there is lots to be discovered...
Near the market you can take the ferry boat or "Ria Taxi" to the romantic offshore islands of "Armona" or "Culatra". There is also a Marina for boats and yachts, and a 5 star hotel is due to open shortly. During the high season you can listen to an occasional live band in the park or visit the gypsy market and the flea market of Quelfes.
Town: Portugal, Algarve, Olhão-QuelfesThe lagoons of the Ria Formosa Nature Reserve are only a 10-minute drive away. In the summer visitors can take one of the regular ferry crossings from Olhão or Fuseta to the islands and their endless sandy beaches - a paradise for sun-worshipers. There is a little corner shop few metres away from Casa Lena for your daily needs. For bigger shopping trips, Moncarapacho and Olhão are only 5 kilometres away. Here you will find market halls, supermarkets, banks, a post office, and other shops all conveniently located near your holiday home.
