Description of objectPerched on a plateau and surrounded by luscious woodland, Soca Vila benefits from a breathtaking views of the stunning Soca river against the backdrop of the majestic Julian Alps.The house combines traditional and modern; Full of fine antiques, the property itself is a big, old farmhouse which has been lovingly and caringly restored, with no expense spared. Dating from the 19th century and with its thick walls and vaulted ceilings, the house is both warm in winter and cool in summer. Ground floor On the ground floor, the traditional hefty stone floor is warm underfoot thanks to underfloor heating, as are all the bathrooms. Here there is a large kitchen and formal dining room which seats 10 people and is perfect for long enjoyable evenings over some traditional Slovenian cooking and a few glasses of wine. Also on this floor is a twin bedroom, laundry room, WC, shower room and wine cellar. First floor & second floors A beautiful rustic oak staircase leads up to the first floor with its Juliet balcony and three ensuite bedrooms. Up more stairs to the third floor where, aside from the view, the showpiece is a 200 year old parquet masterpiece taken from an old palatial house in Ljubljana. A kitchen, open log fire, huge comfortable sofa, TV, DVD, Xbox, iPod dock, DVD library and wireless internet are also located on the top floor, as is the master bedroom. Summary In total, the house sleeps ten people comfortably - there are two double rooms, two twin rooms and one room with two small doubles (ideal for two adults or four children!). There is also a single sofa bed in the groundfloor twin bedroom. The bathrooms have top of the range showers and deep baths, two of which are jacuzzi baths, to ensure that you experience this stunning country in style and luxury. Hair dryers are also available. The tranquility of the area ensures perfect sleeping conditions and guests have informed us that it is very difficult to get out of bed in the mornings! Garden/Dining Outside, the garden is set in 10 acres. Steps lead down to the swimming pool, complete with a number of sun loungers and pool toys! There is a BBQ, sand pit, numerous fruit trees and an organic herb and vegetable garden set in a beautiful old ruin so you can pick your own produce on a daily basis. Location of objectThe house is located 2 km above Most na Soci, in the village of Drobocnik. There is a sliproad off the main square with a small signpost for Drobocnik. Drive up and through woodland, past Drobocnik 12 and you will see a track on the right on the bend. This is the driveway.Town: Slovenia, Soca Valley, Most na SociMost na SociFrom Most na Soci train station, drive your car onto the train and relax and enjoy the scenery. In less than an hour, you will arrive at Bohinjska Bistrica where you can visit the famous lakes Bohinj and Bled, as well as Bohinj waterpark & spa. From here it is just 40 minutes on the motorway to the Slovene capital of Ljubljana. Also in Most na Soci, daily steam boat trips down the Soca river with lunch or fishing in the one of the top trout rivers in Slovenia, the Idrijca are also worth a try and walk up to Most na Soci church to enjoy a stunning view. The watersports centre is based in the next village of Tolmin which is less than 10 minutes drive/25 minutes cycle along the Soca river.
