Description of objectthe 'fishermen's street' of Marseillan village's quiet Tabarka harbour, this smart three-bedroom, two-bathroom townhouse is a favourite hideaway, just a gentle stroll from the bustling restaurants and cafes of the main port.On the Ground Floor: Entrance hall, double bedroom and bathroom/wc On the First Floor: The salon-sejour with smart, modern, fully-fitted kitchen, complete with washing machine and dishwasher and the option to cook with either gas or electricity. Indoor lounge and dining areas, TV & DVD lead to sunny south-facing terrace with parasol and outdoor dining suite. Look up the sleepy street to the church tower and hear the village bell chime the (approximate) hour and turn your head and peek down towards the fishermen's boathouses of the Port Tabarka. On the Second Floor : The master bedroom and a third double bedroom (with views over the oysterbeds of the Etang de Thau) together with shower room and wc. Location of objectA couple of hundred yards from the quayside tables of the main port, yet who would guess from the tranquillity of the Tabarka where the only sounds of a summer evening come from the dusk cries of crickets and swallows, the calls of optimistic seabirds following a late returning fishing boat and the gentle tinkle of the breeze rustling through the rigging of boats safely moored for the night. The oyster beds of the etang provide fabulous seafood suppers to be savoured on the terrace and market fresh ingredients can always be prepared in the fully fitted kitchen in the bright and airy first floor salon.Town: France, Etang de Thau, MarseillanA charming and picturesque Languedoc village, bounded by Medietrranean oysterbeds, the Canal de Midi and the Picpoul de Pinet vineyards. A charming weekly market in the old streets around the 13th century church. Visit the original vermouth distillery on the port and taste the catch of the day at any one of two dozen restaurants.Sea, Lagoon and Canal: Boating and watersports within a few minutes walk of the house. Miles of long sandy beaches on the Med and the leafy tree-lined Canal de Midi, with its timeless locks and solitary fishermen. Further afield, dip in clear mountain lakes and canoe white waters in the gorges of Haute Languedoc as eagles soar above. Play Pétanque on the shady village square or book a tennis court along the Oystermen's road. Children let off steam in the Park Tabarka playground two minutes walk away - skate ramps, volleyball and table tennis areas. Golfers tee off at nearby St. Thomas and Cap d'Agde golf clubs. Skiers drive up to the Pyrenees for the weekend. Shopping: Legendary Brocante fleamarkets at Marseillan Plage resort, 5 minutes drive from the port, hailed by BBC TV as the ultimate continental boot fairs.
