Examples of Moroccan handicraft, such as tadelakt (Moroccan wall painting technique with colors), sculpted plaster and wooden ceilings are found in every room. FROM OUR GUEST-BOOK: This week in Marrakesh we had the impression of living in a fairy tale. This incredibly diverse city with her charming inhabitants and this wonderful house, renovated with lots of attention to detail and care - congratulations - enchanted us. When we entered this haven of silence and contemplation, exhausted from the thousand and one impressions gathered from the city life, we sought refuge in the library to read a book and restore our strength with a cup of mint tea. It was marvelous. This riad is really beautiful and renovated with attention to detail, congratulations. We really enjoyed the stay outside of the riad (Essaouira, the Dads Valley and the Ourika Valley) as well. Thanks a lot, we will definitely come back to stay at your riad. We spent a wonderful week in Marrakech. Thank you for letting us stay at your riad. It was like living in «the Thousand and One Nights»: beautiful surroundings and an enchanting atmosphere. Abdel took good care of us. He is very obliging and reliable. We enjoyed discovering the region by car with Kamal. Future guests may be interested to know that on the road, he stops at craftmen's shops, where you can buy items of their production. Don't forget to take money with you because it's worth it! Altogether, this was a very successful week. Coming back from Morocco – happy and fulfilled – I'd like to thank you for letting us stay at your beautiful riad. The surprise upon entering this wonderful space is total after going through the alleyways leading to the riad. The place is charming and has been tastefully decorated. We hope that we could manage to come back again, maybe in April next year... We would like to thank you for our stay in your house. We really enjoyed living there and it helped us getting ready for our Moroccan adventure. The three and a half weeks went by really quickly, but we savored every single day, taking time for ourselves and time to get to know the country with the eyes of children. Town: Morocco, Marrakech, MarrakechFrom Wiki: Marrakech, known as the 'Red City', is an important and former imperial city in Morocco. The city of Marrakech is the capital of the mid-southwestern economic region of Marrakech-Tensift-Al Haouz, near the foothills of the snow-capped Atlas Mountains.Like many North African cities, the city of Marrakech comprises both an old fortified city (the médina) and an adjacent modern city (called Gueliz) for a total population of 1,070,838. [1] It is served by Ménara International Airport (IATE code: RAK) and a rail link to Casablanca and the north. Marrakech has the largest traditional market (souk) in Morocco and also has one of the busiest squares in Africa and the world, Djemaa el Fna. The square bustles with acrobats, story-tellers, water sellers, dancers, and musicians. By night food stalls open in the square turning it into a huge busy open-air restaurant.
