Description of objectThis is a charming little 18C holiday cottage, in a quiet location at the heart of a small Limousin village. It has one double bedroom, and sleeps four by making use of the fold-away sofabed in the sitting room, or alternatively, the two fold-away single beds provided, one of which can be used in the dining room if required. The cottage retains it's original character, but also has facilities necessary for a comfortable stay. There is a small residents parking area directly in front and the rear garden overlooks open farmland and forest. The cottage has a little private garden and patio area for you to have 'al fresco' meals and barbeques. The small sitting room has English and French tv, plus dvd player and selection of dvd's, books, board games, etc. There is a double sofabed, or you may prefer to use the two fold-ip single beds available. We also provide baby equipment, such as travel cot, high chair, safety stair gates, fireguard etc. Internet access at no extra charge via wi-fi connection. The dining room seats four, and there is a woodburning stove in the dining room, plus CD/radio player. The small kitchen is equipped with fridge-freezer, washing machine, gas cooker, coffee machine, microwave, electric kettle, toaster etc. It is very conveniently placed for your 'al fresco' meals. Upstairs is the comfortable double bedroom, with lovely views over open countryside, and the modern shower room. We also provide two adult mountain bikes, should you wish to explore the nearby country lanes and hamlets. (Please note - you need to provide your own safety helmet/equipment if making use of the bikes) The tiny village of Mailhac sur Benaize is ideally placed for exploring the Limousin region, as it is only a 10 minute drive to the toll-free A20 motorway. Limoges airport is a 45 minute drive away. There is a small town only a mile or so along the road for your daily needs such as small aupermarket, pharmacy, bar restaurants, cash machine and boulangeries, or a little further away is La Souterraine, a lovely historical town to visit, where there is a good selection of shops and supermarkets. Only a mile or so away from the cottage is a beautiful lake with a public swimming pool, and where you can obtain a fishing permit. From the lake you can take spectacular riverside walks, into the forest, and see the waterfall, which is very loud after rainfall. The Limousin, in South-west France, is around a 6 hour drive from the Channel ports. The cottage is available for letting year-round, and has electric heating plus a logburner. Please ask for details of longer term, out of season rentals.Location of objectThe cottage is one of a little row of four adjoining cottages, not situated by a road. In front is a little courtyard parking area for residents. The rear looks out onto open countryside.Town: France, Limousin, Mailhac sur BenaizeThe cottage is situated directly behind the village church (but is very quiet as the church is sadly no longer used for regular masses) The village is easily reached via junctions 21 or 22 of the A20 motorway, which is about a 10 minute drive.
