CateringCatering: on order (extra)Additional InformationLago de Barasona, the lake at walking distance, is an ideal place to practise water sports.Along the narrow river gorge southwards of the lake there are original stone age paintings to be found. There are various walks that belong to the group of shorter routes in La Puebla de Castro which connect villages in the area between Somontano, la Ribagorza and Sobrarbe. One of the prettiest walks is the one linking La puebla de Castro to Olvena. The village also provides a starting point for many long walks in an area of great natural beauty and sublime peace and quiet. There are centuries-old, easy footpaths leading to other villages, Romanesque churches and sometimes abandoned monasteries. (See ‘senderos’ (footways) at www.ribagorza.com) . The Mediterranean mountain landscape, with its many almond and olive trees, varies from gently undulating to steep rocky slopes. |
