Description of objectThis 19th century stone house has been restored to provide gracious & luxurious holiday accommodation in a beautiful Cypriot village. The House of Achilles is set in a secluded garden with its own swimming pool.The house offers all the comforts of modern living: three en suite bedrooms, a grand two storey high living room, fully fitted kitchen, air-conditioning and central heating.
Location of objectDoor Wooden Doors take you from a private pathway into the garden of the House of Achilles. The garden is overlooked by an ancient Almond Tree and is stocked with fragrant flowers. The 8x4 meter swimming pool is set in the garden and surrounded by a terrace. There are loungers by the pool and cafe style furniture for eating al freco.The House of Achilles has three double bedrooms all ensuite (one King sized traditional four poster, one queen sized traditional double, one Twin room with traditional beds,+cot).The House of fully Air-conditioned and centrally heated. The kitchens are fully fitted (washing machines ,dishwashers, full height fridge freezers, iron/ing Board, electric hob, electric oven,electric kettle,electric toaster etc). The 'Palati' is double height and makes a gracious and elegant sitting room. A double sofa will sleep two and there is a shower room for extra guests.
The House of Achilles can be rented as one large house with private swimming pool sleeping 2-8 + cots or as two separate self contained units sharing the swimming pool. Unit 1 - Xanthus - sleeps 4+cot and Unit 2 -Balius - sleeps 4+cot.
Town: Cyprus, Larnaca, KhirokitiaThe Village of Khirokitia lies approximately 25 minutes from Larnaca International Airport on the gentle foothills of the Troodos Mountain Range. The Village is distinguished as being the cradle of civilisation in the Levant and the site of Neolithic Ruins that date from 7000BC and have World Heritage Status. Khirokitia has a population of approximately 470. The village has a Bank, a Co-operative supermarket, a butchers shop and a traditional coffee shop. There is an ancient Nature Trail that has been reinstated running from the ruins to the modern village which makes a wonderful walk. Governor's Beach is a 10 minute drive away and the lace making village of Lefkara is a perfect place for a local excursion. Nicosia and Limassol are approximately 25 minutes away by car.
