Well appointed 4 double bedroom renovated Bergerie set in two acres in the heart of the beautiful Campan Valley. Ideally located for outdoor pursuits all year round including skiing, walking, cycling, hiking, canoeing, parapenting, horseriding, golf and fishing. The property is located near to the charming town of Bagneres de Bigorre with the fantastic Aquensis Spa and is a 10 minute drive to La Mongie/Bareges, the premier ski area of the French Pyrenees. The property is close to the Parc National de Pyrenees, the Pic du Midi, GR10 and within easy reach of the Lourdes sanctuary.On the ground floor there is an open plan living area with traditional log fire, well fitted kitchen and dining area. There is also a double bedroom and fully equipped bathroom. The living area includes a TV, Satellite, DVD, and CD player. On the first floor there are three further double bedrooms, a shower room and separate WC. A highchair and cot are available.

Welcome to \'Le Bergerie\'- a lovingly renovated sheep barn set in two acres of beautiful and relaxing countryside in the Campan valley.
The house is positioned on a quiet side road off the main road to La Mongie and the Col du Tourmalet. There is a crystal clear stream running by the road next to the house, and fishing permits are available.
In the day the house looks up to the mountains affording wonderful views all around. On a clear night, as there is hardly any ambient light, you are treated to a fantastic view of the stars.
In front of the house is the patio and parking area and a great sized lawn. To the side, the land runs up to the woods and is regularly visited by the local sheep who wander off and on ringing their bells. Deer are also regular visitors as are various birds incuding birds of prey. In summer the field is awash with meadow grass and flowers and attracts beautiful butterflies. Little geckos are also seen on the outside of the house, basking in the summer sun.

From La Mongie take the cable car to the Observatory at the Pic Du Midi(2877m), where from the summit you can see the entire Pyrenean mountain range and all the plains of South west France. The Pic Du Midi is the only high mountain area accessible by mechanical lift for ski mountaineering, for a descent with a 1500m drop. The Pic has a museum and also offers Celestial evenings and nights at the summit. Going through La Mongie is the Col Du Tourmalet and through Payolle the Col d\\\\\\\'Aspin, climbs featured in the Tour De France. The area is hugely popular with both road cyclists and mountain bikers. Payolle in the winter is an area used for cross country and snow shoeing and offers 50km of forest trails round the lake. The area in summer is popular with families, walkers and bikers. Bagneres has the relaxing Aquensis thermal spas, Casino, the Country Club Golf Course with views over the valley, mini golf for the kids, parks, and a swimming pool which opens to the outside in the summer

Additional Information

A security deposit of 200 euros/£200 is payable and returned within 7 days of departure. Electricity, wood used for the fire and taxe de sejour is deducted from the security deposit. (The taxe de sejour equates to 39 cents per person per night.) A booking deposit is required, non refundable if cancellation is later than 6 weeks before rental period. Payment in full 6 weeks before the rental period. Refundable by negotiation and ability to re-let the bergerie.Changeover is normally a Saturday but may be flexible.
Linen and towels are available on request.
Linen £10/E12 per person.
Towels £2/E2.50 per person.
Renters are required to leave the property in a clean and tidy condition or a cleaning charge of 50 Euros will be charged.
Rentals periods of more than two weeks will attract a reduction in price. Long term rental periods are also available.
