Grade II listed Georgian house in Dunbar, a beautiful coastal town to the East of Edinburgh (20 minutes by train, 40 minutes by car).
This large sandstone house is over 260 years old and full of character. It is our family home and we are willing to let others use it for a number of weeks each year while we are away. So it does contain all of our possessions and we would ask you bear this in mind when considering a booking.
We have extensive walled gardens and a large summer house at the end of the garden.
There are three reception rooms - a family lounge with TV, a cocktail lounge with a large L shaped sitting area and an upstairs morning room with two giant leopard skin sofa's (which can also double up as two single beds).
The country kitchen opens onto the garden leading to the summer house and the utility room.
There are three double bedrooms on the first floor and an attic conversion which runs the length of the house - this is one large room with two separate sleeping areas each with a double bed and it has an en suite shower room.
So the house can easily sleep ten - or twelve if the two morning room sofas are used. It would also be possible to provide one or two day beds to make some of the double rooms into triples - please ask.

Edinburgh is 30 miles to the east of Dunbar and Berwick the historic English border town is 30 miles to the south.
Easy day trips include the Holy Island of Lindisfarne, Glasgow, as well as the nearer towns of North Berwick and Haddington.

Dunbar is a small fishing town linked by a mainline train network to Edinburgh.
Within a few minutes walk of the house are:
- beaches - gentle walks and surfing for the more adventurous
- Supermarkets and high street

- a leisure pool with wave machine and a slide
A few minutes in a car and you can visit:
- the John Muir Country park with an adventure playground and wals through woods and dunes
- The East Links Family park with activities for children
- lots of easy cycling routes
- the Lammermuir hills
- castles and historic sites
