Description of objectBeautifully renovated 4-bedroom traditional vignerons house is all on one level and is full of warm Mediterranean colour and is spacious and charming with a wonderful large south-facing terrace for alfresco dining beneath the pergola. The original features such as the terracotta and colourful languedocien tiles and long windows have been retained, and the addition of oak antiques throughout and modern fixtures and fittings provide guests with total comfort and a real french experience. There are four unique bedrooms, each with their own bathroom, a large kitchen, convivial dining room and cosy lounge with 3 sofas and a large TV (French and UK Freeview channels and radio) and a CD/DVD player.
Location of objectOn entering the village of Berlou by the wine shop, one turns right and follows the stream, passing the gorgeous 16th century church and parks approximately 200m further along this road just before the edge of the village. A small turning up to the left is rue du Burguet and on looking up you will see the plants up above you on the terrace. The property is built on corner and on a small hill, that you will climb to the front door from where you will park. This means you enter the property at street level and although the living space is on one level, the front bedroom and terrace appear to be on the \'first floor\'. The layout of the house is L-shaped and semi-detached and with very few cars passing except the postman and the bread van in the mornings, you will rarely notice any neighbours.
Town: France, Cessanon-sur-Orb, BerlouBerlou is nestled in the foothills of the Parc Naturel de Haute Languedoc and is surrounded by vineyards growing in the schiste on gentle slopes providing visitors with wonderful walking and cycling. With just about 200 inhabitants the village is small and peaceful yet has a lovely restaurant with beautiful terrace serving contemporary food with the renowned local wines. We have a co-operative wine shop and 5 independant wine producers in the village, with many more in the surrounding area. The nearest towns for supplies, bars and restaurants are Cessanon-sur-Orb, a lively Medieval market town built on the river with a stunning town square behind its lovely church and St. Chinian, with more shops, a renowned Sunday market and a good supermarket. Both are 15 minutes away by car.
