Water and electric costs are not included. At your arrival at the residence our assistant (Luca Annoni) will wait for you to give you the apartment keys. To go to ESPARGO, the capital, take the coach bus during the day; you can take it at the town entrance and it costs 100 escudos which is definitely cheaper than a cab. You can buy fish directly at the fishers jetty; fishers go there every day at 10.30 p.m. And you will pay 4 Euros per kilo at the most; there are also good Cape Verde restaurants where to eat meat and fish dishes for 5 Euros. The fixed exchange rate is 1 Euro=100 escudos. At bank the cost of this operation is fixed for every amount and it can vary from 2 to 5 Euros depending on the bank; if you pay in Euros the exchange is 1 Euro=100 escudos. The only pharmacy in Santa Maria is placed near the PIRATA disco club; it is open from Monday to Friday from 8.30 to 12.30 p.m. And from 3.00 to 6.00 P.m. To make phone calls you must dial 00 followed by the international code and the user’s number you want to call, including 0. Please remember that a call from the cell phone will cost you 6.90 Euros per minute and a SMS will cost you 1.00 Euro. In Santa Maria you will find many Internet points where to make phone calls at cheap prices. Tap water in the apartments is desalinated; we suggest you to drink bottled water. |
