Just a few kilometers from the busy city, on a gentle shore below the shade of rich Mediterranean vegetation, lies Pješčana Uvala - a village with a very rich tourist and gastronomic offer. Originally created as a peaceful residential oasis for Pulas’ citizens, today Pješčana Uvala is almost entirely focused on tourism.
Located at the end of the long Veruda channel - well protected from wind from times immemorial, it slopes gently to the southwest, bathed by the warm sun throughout the whole day.
On the hills above it and in the channel itself, valuable archaeological sites have been found, as well as on the nearby island of Veruda, known as Fratarski otok, where there once was a Franciscan monastery and a church. Today this is a favorite place for Pula’s citizens to relax.
