Description of objectWelcome to Villa CabraSurrounded by statuesque, tropical fruit trees and occupying a 450m2 plot, Villa Cabra is our family holiday home. Therefore it is more thoughtfully equipped than the majority of rental properties. With everything you need for the beach – towels, mats, snorkels, kites and cool bag – plus a variety of games, puzzles, books and DVDs for evenings in. The ground floor has a well equipped kitchen, lounge and dining room. A table and six chairs are available for al fresco dining on the patio. Two large bedrooms (each with two single beds) and a shower room/WC are located on this floor. At the top of the tower is the master bedroom with en suite shower room/WC. Doors open from the bedroom onto the roof terrace. This is an ideal spot to watch stars shoot across the vast African dark-sky by night. A hammock and a lounger provide comfort whilst you enjoy ‘the show’. Guests have use of the communal pool. Weekly Price: 550 Euros. Sleep up to 6 people. Villa Locale Villa Cabra is conveniently situated. All amenities are accessible within a few minutes. The main town of Maio, Vila do Maio, is a short stroll. Here you will find a variety of restaurants, bars, banks and a clinic. A ten minute walk across the Salinas (salt flats) brings you to one of the many stunning beaches whilst the small airport is a five minute drive away. Getting Here Currently no direct flights operate between UK and Praia, capital city of Cape Verde situated on Santiago and closest island to Maio. Charter flights from Gatwick, Birmingham and Manchester fly to Sal, an island situated 170km to the north of Maio. An alternative is a flight with Easyjet to Palma in the Canary Islands and then onward to Praia with either TACV or TAP. Two airlines currently share routes between the Cape Verdean islands – TACV The flight from Praia to your destination takes eight minutes and the Maio airport experience is one not to be missed! Alternatively there are boats that operate between Praia and Maio. Out & About Scuba diving is in its infancy on Maio, so you could be one of the first to experience these pristine waters. The bay at Ponta Preta has been declared a nature reserve – the first of its kind in Cape Verde. Fishing and diving excursions as well as round the island. A unique place, with cobbled streets and architecture left behind by the Portuguese, it is a charming mix of old Europe and Africa.
