Description of objectA country road leads 1 km up the hill to "Poggio", an ancient Tuscan farmhouse overlooking olive groves and vineyards, grazing sheep and distant villages. It is situated on the edges of a 140 hectare farm which produces top quality wines, olive oil and a range of sheep milk cheeses."Poggio" has a ground floor apartment of 120 sq.m that can comfortably sleep four up to six people. There are three bedrooms, two bedrooms with double beds and a room connecting the two with a third double bed. There is a large bathroom and spacious open plan kitchen/dining/living room with big open fireplace. Poggio’s garden, offering privacy and shade, is full of herbs and flowers. The swimming pool was the original water reserve 6 x 4 m, and is much used for a refreshing bathe during the summer months. The owners live in the above apartment. The kitchen at "Poggio" is well equipped, with a large fridge, electric oven and gas stove. On request some provisions will be available to guests for their convenience. There is an excellent supermarket in nearby San Casciano which sells a full range of fresh local produce as well as the usual grocery items. Local grocery shop nearby, 2 km (open also Sunday morning). Location of object"Poggio" is situated on top of a hill in the Chianti countryside, 14 km from Florence, 35 km from Siena and 100 km from Pisa. Florence Airport 40 min drive by car, Pisa Airport 65 min, Florence Railway Station 35 minutes (depends on traffic). The local town 3 km away, with supermarkets, specialty shops, cafes and a market held every week.Also nearby are many historical towns such as Certaldo, San Gimignano, Volterra, or for a day trip you can visit Lucca, Arezzo, Pisa and the coast is about one and a half hours drive away. Town: Italy, Chianti, San Casciano Val di PesaSan Casciano is a small town situated a few minutes south of Florence. The characteristic Tuscan town offers many shops,supermarket, banks and restaurants; Also a nice theater, library, and sacred art museum.
