In a quiet setting, yet only 3km from historic town of Rye with cobbled streets. Dover 68km.A wing of the property has been tastefully converted into four 1 bedroomed self catering apartments. Ideally suited for couples wishing to get away from it all. Children welcome; Poppy & Tulip are only suitable for children age 5 or over. Apartments Bluebell & Crocus are suitable for Children/Babies of all ages. Linen, towels, electricity, heating & WiFi Internet are included in the rent. Welcome pack on arrival. Shared lawned garden & courtyard with seating. Also rotary dryer, picnic bench, garden furniture & bbq for guests use. Private parking adjacent. BLUEBELL: Sleeping 2/4 (1 Twin Bedroom + Double pull out sofa-bed in open plan lounge area) on the ground floor, front facing overlooking garden & fields. Open plan Lounge/Kitchen/Diner. SITTING area carpeted, with double sofabed (sleeps 2), armchair, occasional table, TV (Freeview), DVD, CD/Radio. Built in wardrobe/storage cupboard. KITCHEN area has vinyl tile effect floor, ample cutlery, crockery, pots, pans etc. Dishwasher, washing machine, tumble dryer, built in double electric oven & hob, microwave, fridge/freezer & sink. Dining table & chairs seat 4. Window overlooking garden & fields. BEDROOM - 2 single full size pine beds that can be pushed together (sleeps 2), with shelf & reading lamps, wardrobe/dressing table/mirror, drawers with TV, shaver adapt, hairdryer. Window view of garden/fields. BATHROOM, bath with shower over, washbasin, cabinet, mirror & w.c. WEEKLY: (7 nights) are from Saturday to Saturday. RATES 2011: £245.00 to £365.00 Pounds Sterling (Seasonal) SHORT BREAKS: Weekend Breaks are Sat to Tue (3 nights) & Mid Week breaks are Tue to Sat (4 nights) except during peak periods. RATES 2011: £171.00 to £332.00 Pounds Sterling (Seasonal) RATES: All prices quoted are for 2 sharing. Use of Sofa-Bed will be an additional £30.00 per break/week. SLEEPING CAPACITY: The Apartment is ideally suited for 2 Adults; however a maximum of 2 Adults + 2 Children can be accommodated. Please note, there is room for only 1 Cot in Crocus and Bluebell. Location of objectHumphries Cross is on the border of Kent & East Sussex, giving guests the opportunity to explore Kent know as the garden of England as well as East Sussex known as 1066 Country. We are situated close to Tenterden (Kent) with its quaint antique shops, steam railway, vineyard/winery with shop & bistro & town of Battle (East Sussex) where re-enactments of the Battle of Hastings take place. Gardens & Castles are in abundance such as Smallhythe Place, Bodiam Castle, Sissinghurst Castle, Great Dixter just to mention a few. London, Brighton, Canterbury, Eastbourne & Hastings are all within easy reach for day trips. We are ideal for day trips to france as Eurotunnel & Dover are only a short drive away.Iden village - a pretty sussex village mentioned in the doomsday book is within walking distance from the property. It has a Shop/P.O, Church, Village Hall, Bowls Club, Riding School & Pub serving good food. Iden annual summer fete always proves to be very popular with visitors. A local bus service from Rye to Tenterden passes our gate & is ideal should you wish to have a relaxing day off from driving. Rye - has a weekly market on a Thursday & also a Farmers Market on a Wednesday. Festivals such as Rye Bay Scallop Festival , Medieval Siege of Rye and Bonfire Parade with flaming torches are always favourite events. Once surrounded by sea, this fortified hilltop town with its cobbled streets, tea rooms & antique/bric a brac shops played an important role in the defence of the south coast of England. Nowadays the river is home to the local fishing fleet, with freshly caught fish availble to buy from the quayside. (3km) For food lovers, the area is heaven with local scallops, fresh fish, Romney Marsh lamb, cherries, & asparagus on the doorstep & can be enjoyed in local restaurants and cafes.
