Description of objectLa Contea is a renovated farmhouse with tennis courts that lies on the border between Umbria and Tuscany. There are 4 vacation apartments that cater for 4-5 persons and are all individually available for rent. The house is in the countryside near the village Pozzuolo.The location offers fantastic views of the surrounding landscape of Tuscany and there is plenty of garden space to sit outside in the sun or in the shade. There is a large swimming pool for the water babies amongst you that is large enough to take a real swim in, or if you prefer there is a small fishing lake and tennis courts. The grounds offer plenty of room for seclusion or company, depending on your mood. Every apartment has its own entrance and consists of 2 bedrooms. Each apartment has 1 double bedroom and the second bedroom has 3 single beds. They are all inclusive of a large living/kitchen area, a bathroom with WC and shower and a single sofa bed. There is a covered carport for your car if needed. The rooms are spacious and the wardrobe and dresser offer plenty of space to unpack your things. The owners are very pleasant people who will see to all your needs. It is less than 2 km from the house to the local village of Pozzuolo, where you will find a bank, pharmacy, boutiques, a small supermarket, a butcher, a petrol station and more. In the village there is a small bakery that you should make sure you visit. You can have a look at the huge bowls in which the dough is mixed and take a freshly baked Italian loaf of bread home with you. The small pizzas and Bomboloni (cream filled pastries) are well worth a try! The residents of the village are wonderfully pleasant people. They are very easy to start a conversation with if you feel like practicing your Italian! As with all our locations around the lake, there are many sights, which are all easily reached in both Tuscany and Umbria. Location of objectThis part of the country, famous all over the world for the intense yet peaceful colours of its countryside, is surrounded by 3 lakes: Trasimeno, Montepulciano and Chiusi, each only a short distance away.Some of Umbria’s and Tuscany’s most famous cities are only a short drive away, Siena, Arezzo, Perugia, Assisi and Gubbio to name but a few. Within easy reach there are also many other towns, less well known but equally worth a visit. Montepulciano, Pienza, Cortona, Monte San Savino, Panicale, Città della Pieve and many more, all of great historic and artistic interest. The area was once an important centre of the Etruscan civilization as a visit to the local museums and archaeological sites will testify. The heating costs and housekeeping fees are paid directly to the landlord and are dependent on usage please be aware heating costs are expensive in Italy. Almost all landlords require a security deposit between 100 € and 250 €. The full balance of the deposit will be returned at the end of stay provided that the property is in the same condition as when you arrived and there are no damaged/ broken items. All linens should be returned in the same number and conditions on departure if they are not the landlords have the right to keep the deposit at their discretion. |
