Description of objectA small but cosy holiday accommodation, located in the middle of a small subtropical paradise, above the lively village of Porto da Cruz, where one finds a beautiful sea promenade . In a renovated villa you find this low floor apartment studio with direct access to a well kept garden with swimming pool. From several terraces one enjoys a great panoramic sea view, in a meeting of the blue ocean with the blue skies. Property is rightfully known as the 'Eagle's Nest'.
This sunny studio with a small kitchenette and with a nice decoration offers a cosy atmosphere. With 30 m² of living area, it consists of a combined living/sleeping room with kitchenette, satellite TV, shower room, 2 terraces, BBQ, sea view and swimming pool (9x4.5m). The studio apartment is well divided and can still accommodate a third person (child). Inserted in a plot of 700 m².
Occasionally, the welcoming owners will stay in the upper independent floor. Natural oceanic natural pools in the village are a few minutes walk distant.
Bed linen and towels change, maid service 2 x per week.
Location of objectThe attractions of this small parish are hidden and you'll have to take a closer look to find them. One of them is the old sugar cane factory, which is still operating the same way, as it was when it started with the sugar production in 1927. It boasts a 26 meter tall tower and when it's working you might even see steam coming out!
Also not to be missed is the place known as Penha d'Įguia, an imposing rock that separates Porto da Cruz from Faial. Getting up there might be a challenge, as the road is very steep, but the songs of the birds will help you on the way up and once you get there you'll be sure it was definitely worth it. The views from Penha d'Įguia are absolutely amazing!
Porto da Cruz is also famous for its wine. Known as 'vinho seco americano' (dry red wine made of a type of grape called americana), this local product is the theme for a celebration usually happening in September (Festa do Vinho).
