Description of objectOur Gite ‘Le Carabi’ is situated in the courtyard of our B&B/Chambres D’hotes, La Jolie Maison, in the charming rural village of Le Langon.It was once the home of the village doctor’s Horse, Carabi, and we have very tastefully converted it into a very spacious and bright holiday apartment. There is a comfy lounge with TV & DVD, including English satellite. A very well equipped kitchen with large fridge/freezer, washing machine, microwave, oven and dining table & chairs. We have created ‘Le Carabi’ for people with Mobility Problems, hence we have a very spacious bedroom, with twin beds, downstairs and a wonderful roomy wet-room, with a separate easy access sink. All our doors widths are designed for wheelchair access. Upstairs, there is a light and airy mezzanine floor with double bed. It sleeps 4 comfortably, but can sleep another on the sofa/bed. There is private and secure parking right outside the Gite and we have created a private garden and terrace in our own large garden, for your exclusive use, for those family BBQ’s or just a quiet romantic evening, enjoying a bottle of wine.! We have a very large above ground swimming pool, which is available to all our guests and also use of the sun beds. We can also offer Evening meals, when our dining room at La Jolie Maison Guesthouse is serving, at very competitive prices. We try to cater for most diets, vegetarians are very welcome. Also, as a special treat, why not come & join our B&B customers for a lovely cooked breakfast in our dining room. Location of objectIf you are traveling by motorway (A83) you can exit on;Exit 7, follow route to La Rochelle, N137, Just after passing through a village called St-Gemme-la-Plaine, you arrive at a roundabout, Lucon to your right, Fontenay to your left, go left, D949, follow road through various small villages, you will reach Mouzeuil st Martin, go past La Poste (on your left) almost opposite is a turning to Le Langon, head down there for about 3km, (you will go over a railway line) Enter Le Langon, you will reach a T junction, with 'the Square' opposite, Cafe de Sport on your left. Turn left here, you will then come to a sharp left hand bend, & La Jolie Maison is on you right, just off of the bend, look for the large green gates. Exit junction 8, go left at roundabout, heading for La Rochelle, follow this road, D968, until you come to a right hand turning to Le Poire sur velluire D68. Follow road through villages, approx 8km, you will come into Le Langon, you will then reach a tricky T-junction, turn left here, follow road round, La Jolie Maison is on the Left hand side before you turn into a sharp Right hand bend, just before reaching the square. Stansted to La Rochelle Stansted to Nantes Dublin to La Rochelle Dublin to Nantes Town: France, Nr La Rochelle, Le langonWe are situated in the heart of Le Langon, a small farming village, close to Fontenay le Comte, in a very popular french culture tourist area of the Vendee, benefiting from a warm, sunny microclimate, driven by the Gulf Stream. It's only forty minutes drive from the Atlantic Coast, where the wonderful sandy beaches await you.The medieval town of Fontenay Le Comte is close by, only fifteen minutes drive away, with plenty of quaint French lanes filled with shops & restaurants. The famous re-enactment Park, The Puy du Fou, is only a short drive away, where you can go back in time to see a Jousting Knight, or a Fighting Gladiator, plus much, much more. Le Langon borders onto Charente Maritime. There you will find the beautiful large french holidays town of La Rochelle, with it's french culture ancient towers that have guarded the old port for many centuries, surrounded by many restaurants, nestling around it's walls, giving you the chance to absorb the wonderful ambience over a meal and a bottle (or two!) of 'le vin'.
