Szigliget: The ruins of a castle on the top of the hill are beautiful for themselves, but the view is unbeatable. This natural karst water is being used in medical treatment since 200 years.The characteristics of the lake make this spa different from other thermal spas in many respects: because of the deep water it is possible to bath perpendicularly so the water pressure gives the body a massage. The water contains gases that turn into small spherule on the skin. The healing power of the radon and the hydrogen-sulphide will be stored up in the cells when people breath in these gases. The famous medicinal mud has singular healing property, so it is the most suitable for the treatment of rheumatic-locomotive diseases. The special climate around the lake has also healing power. The temperature of the water is about 32-35 degrees centigrade in summer and 24-28 degrees centigrade in winter, therefore outdoor bathing is possible through the year. The lake has a 38 meters depth at its deepest point. The edge of the lake is shallow, so it can be used by non-swimmers as well.
