Description of objectWelcome to ranieriholidays apartments, tastefully and recently refurbished apartments located in a really quiet area next to the famous Greek-Roman temples of Paestum.
The accommodation offers double bedroom, twin bedded room, dining room with a sofa bed and kitchenette, bathroom with shower, parking place and a nice garden. Each apartment is fully equipped: it has a TV set, a washing machine, a hairdryer, bed and table linen, kitchenware, all inclusive. Laundry service is provided on request. Along the coast of Paestum there are beaches, clear and unpolluted seawater and a marvellous pinewood making the town a first-rate seaside resort.
The residence is only few metres from the sea (about 200 m) and well linked to the most famous sights of Campania. Excursions by car can be easily organised to Naples (90 Km), Herculaneum(80 km), Pompei (75 km), Sorrento (77 km) and Amalfi coast (65 km). You can go from Agropoli to Palinuro and Capri by ferryboat as well.
Paestum, located in the east of Salerno, was founded by the Greeks around 60 B.C. Its name derives from Poseidon (the god of the sea) to whom it was dedicated. It was during this time that the Basilica, the Temple of Poseidon and the Temple of Ceres were built. Today, the temples, built from a fine yellow limestone, are considered to be the best kept temples in Italy. The nearby museum contains many fine sculptures found on the site, and also the famous diver’s tomb.
How to get to Paestum: by car: motorway Salerno-Reggio Calabria, exit Battipaglia, then SS. 18 as far as Capaccio-Paestum.
By train : from Naples to Paestum station (journey time about 1 hour and half )
By ferryboat: from Salerno to Agropoli harbour by a ferryboat or a hovercraft.
