Description of objectThe rustic chalet is located in a traditional village, Petrestii de Jos, in Cluj country, the heart of Transilvania. The chalet is perfect for nature lovers, hikers and bikers and people who enjoy exploring the unspoiled nature and cultural heritage of Romania . The chalet is ideally situated to visit the many natural parks in the Carpathian mountains and the medieval cities of Transilvania. The house has 5 separate bedrooms ( up to 12 people) , 6 bathrooms, livingroom, fully equipped kitchen , dining room, a relaxation room, laundry room with washing machine, cave and a garage. Outside is the barbecue grill and a covered outdoor-kitchen, dining place with bar, tables and chairs.Location of objectTurda Gorges ( situated just 3 km from the chalet) is a natural reserve (on Hasdate River) situated 6 km west of Turda and about 15 km south-east of Cluj-Napoca, in the hearth of Transylvania, Romania. The canyon, formed through the erosion of the jurasic calcar of the mountain, is 2 900 m long and the walls have heights reaching 300 m. The total surface of the canyon is of 324 ha.Turda Gorges contain one of the richest and most scenic karst landscapes in Romania. More than 1000 plant and animal species (some of them rare or endangered, like the wild garlic or some species of eagle, fish, amphibians , foxes, weasels, martens, wild boars etc ) live here. There are some 60 known caves, almost all of them being of small size (the longest one has 120 m).Turda Gorges are just a few km away from two other canyons , as from Ciucas waterfall and it’s one of the main rock climbing sites in Romania.Salina Turda is a medieval salt mine situated in Turda, Transylvania, just 12 km from the chalet. In the surroundings of the challet (2km) you will find few lakes, where fishing is possible with a daily ticket. Băişoara winter resort is located approximately 20 kilometres from the challet, and includes two ski trails, for beginner and advanced skiers. Another ski resort, a modern, 750-metre long , is sits on Feleac Hill, with an altitude difference of 98 metres between its highest and lowest points. This ski resort offers outdoor lighting, artificial snow and a ski tow. You can also visit historic monuments like medieval castels or monasteries in the surroundings of the Cluj city. Or you can just relax and enjoy taking a sunbath and swimming on the salt lake and spa resort in Turda (12 km). There is a small shop in the village, several supermarkets and a farmers\\\' market place in Turda (12 km), many hypermarkets and shopping malls in Cluj in Cluj-Napoca (25km). Also restaurants with great traditional romanian and hungarian food just about few km from the chalet. We rent the chalet exclusively for compact groups , so that our guests could enjoy their staying here along with their family or friends, enjoying an intimate environment, free from any disturbance. Our guests have free access to all facilities (equiped kitchen, washing machine, cold and hot water in all bathrooms, fireplace, TV set, outdoor terraces, oven and barbecue, parking lot, etc.). Rental periods are possible from long weekends to several weeks. For more than a week, the price is subject of negociation and discount. On request we will do the cooking for you or provide you with agricultural products from the village such as fresh milk, cheese, wine and liquor, zacusca, ham, pies, bread, marmalade, canned pickles or any other traditional foods, seasonal fruits and vegetables. Also, we can pick you up from the airport or trainstation, we can arrange car rental or we can do the shopping for you.
