Description of objectNewly restored Mountain chalet situated in the' post card ' village of Madjare(Majare) in the mountain of Rila which is the highest mountain in the whole of the Balkan peninsula with the highest peak -mount Mussala at 2925m.Residents benefit from the peaceful mountain life ,while still enjoying easy access to 3 ski resorts and the capital Sofia which is 70 km away.The second biggest Bulgarian town- Plovdiv is 126 km trip.The village of Majare is only 10 miles from the ski resort of Borovets , 3 miles to Samokov and 13 miles to another smaller ski resort -Maliovitsa.From your village only 5 minutes away there is a very nice intermediate run with a drag lift with a length of 1 mile on the outskirts of Govedarci,which can be used as a warm-up. And not least the ski resort of Vitosha is 70 km away on the outskirts of Sofia.The whole area of the north west Rila will become very hot spot with the formation of 'Super Borovets' which is going to be enlarged to the west and east from its current position .The fact that Majare is between 2 resorts says it all.Borovets on one hand offers good variety of runs the longest being nearly 6 kilometers long.Maliovitsa on the other hand is higher to start and with very good snow record less commercial and much cheaper than Borovets.During the winter months, the attraction is the skiing snowboarding or cross country.Borovets has now evolved into a major winter sports resort.Usually the season starts from December and you can ski until end of April. The majestic Rila Mountain -word Rila comes from the word - mountain water,reaches nearly 3000m above the sea level.Rila is heaven for hiking with steep slopes with spectacular views ,and the flora and fauna are definitely worth it. From the chalet to Borovets the distance by car is 15 minutes which give you the good ski choice but with the tranquility of a nice and quiet village. Snow can last until mid June on the picks over 2000 m. The first snow there falls during October. Chalet Carmel is on the foot of the mountain next to a stream at the end of the village .From there you can start exploring the mountain.There are several trails in all directions.Not far from it you enter the Rila National Park which is permanently open to the public and with over 14000 hectares of forest and as much hectares of alpine pastures is one of the biggest in Bulgaria. One of the most popular trails starts at Maliovitsa which lies under the Famous Twin Peak ,visits the magical Seven Lakes goes over the ridge and slopes down to Rila Monastery.This is the jewel in the bulgarian crown for tourists.It is the largest and most important monastery the holiest place for bulgarians tucked away in a narrow valley. The monastery is a national museum and was included on Unesco's list of world Heritage sites in 1983. The distance to the monastery from Maliovitsa is around 8 hours walk through the most beautiful part of the mountain. If you prefer you can try the shorter trails around the village or the ones starting from Borovets.From the latter one you can cheat and take the Gondola to 2300m and from there visit the Mussala Chalet which sits below the highest pick in the Balkans. Summers in the mountain are very special too.Rila mountain has now evolved into a popular destination for everyone wanting to escape the summer heat. Outside the ski season the mountain transforms into colour.The rivers flow fast and are very clean .There are popular places for picknics on the river banks or up the mountain. But even in your accomodation you can enjoy the peace of the place with the little stream.Why don't look just in front of the gate for the early morning cows and sheeps gathered for pasture , listen to the noise of them coming back around 7pm or just relax on the balcony with a favorite book.The Iskar dam is the other attraction which offers fishing places and lots of water sports.Don'r forget the nice restaurants alond the winding road to the capital Sofia. Sofia is only 73km away from the chalet along the river Iskar or 65 if you choose going via Belchin bani spa place.Belchin Bania is the one to visit for a very nice swim in a pool with a 34C mineral water temperature.Even late nights there is no problem .The place is open until very late.The other mineral spa place is 30 minutes away in the town of Sapareva Bania.The water temperature there is the hotest mineral spring - 103.8C and comes out like a geizer The Village of Majare has 2 shops for basic supplies and 3 bars/pubs. The nearlest supermarket is in Samokov 3 miles away. There are few restaurants in wthin 5 minutes drive.Please ask for advise. If residents require airport pick-up that can be arranged and included .For stays of 6 days or more the transfer is included in the listed price. If you prefer we can arrange a Jeep safari up the mountain.The property is in a very secluded place close to the local church. The facilities are as follow: 3 bedrooms plus in the two 2 living rooms, double sofa beds.That brings the total to at 10 people. The bed linen is supplied. There are 2 shower /WC rooms. Towels are supplied. The outside dining area seating capacity is for at least 12 people the inside dining area can acommodate 6 people and the living area seating capacity is for 8. Kitchen and laundry- Fridges on each of the floors,grill,ceramic-halogen hob,iron and board,microwave,oven,grill,toaster,washing mashine, fitted kitchen-cutlery supplied. The villa is heated with radiators in each of the rooms and in the corridors plus 2 fire log burning places and one very attractive log burning fire with glass front in the living room downstairs. There is an open outside log burning fire with a sink, fridge etc. for those summer late night parties . Entertainment is provided by: CD/dvd player on each floor . There is a satelite TV with lots of channels and radio stations on the first floor living room and another TV on the top floor. Outdoor facilities below:Numerous balconies on all sides.One big one looking south in front the main living room which can be used even in the winter.It has see- through fouldable windows so you can sit outside in the winter if the sun is shining or the temp is high.There is a barbeque,vast and landscaped garden,garden furniture,stream with a pond running through the whole lenght of the property,water well,Barn,there will be sauna fitted very soon-watch this space. Secure Parking for 4-5 cars inside the property.Garden is with a superb views towards mountain picks of above 2500m.At the back there are views towards the village church and the mountain hills behind.In the connection between the house and the barn there is space for exersize with instruments, there is plenty of room for storage,There is a ski room and mountain bikes to hire.There is the provision of a trips to Borovets -during the winter-which is 3 trips of your choice-one in the morning, one in the afternoon and one in the evening, if you want the noise and bars of Borovets in the night.You will be supplied with a mobile phone to contact the driver for pickup times of you choice.
