Description of objectAlmaviva is a large 18th century colonial house, completely renovated at the end of 2007 and widely celebrated as one of the region’s most charming houses.Located on the lovely Island of Boipeba and situated in the Island’s quiet town square, next to the historic Matriz Divino Espirito Santo Church, at only 100 mt. from the sea, the house is surrounded by tall mango, cocoa and palm trees. People come here to enjoy the tropical heat and the simplicity of a small fishing town. The house offers a combination of inviting rooms, historic hallways, lounges and verandas, where you can sit back and relive the magic atmosphere of the Portuguese colonies. It has been taken care to preserve this centuries old character. The entire house is decorated in traditional antique furniture, with original 18th century tile flooring. The doors and windows are framed in wrought iron and the walls are ornamented with a collection of antique plates and eighteenth century watercolor paintings. You will find the carefully tended garden rich in botanical species. There is a large pool, built with children in mind, in addition to two spacious verandas for reading and relaxing. The house offers four very large rooms each with a private bathroom and air conditioning and easy access to the swimming pool and a TV room with DVD player, Internet connection and fax.
