Description of objectThis house is for sale at the moment , but we accept a booking for rent to holliday time ( winter -a bit cold but nice, or summer time).
This town called "Tolna" is near the Danube river, and the holliday-paradise Fadd-Dombori.

Town: Hungary, Tolna, TolnaTolna was inhabited already in Roman times, there was a fortress here named Alta Ripa. During the kings' reign of the House of Árpád the town was named Thelena, later Tolna. Due to its ferry harbour and customhouse the importance of the town increased. It was one of the spots of diets, as well as hereditary princes' and queens' properties. During Turkish occupation the town was completely laid waste. In the first part of the 18th century the landlord of the town transplanted people from Bavaria into the empty town, in consequence of it the settlement begun to develop had not seen before. Its fishing, ship's carpenters, mills were well known along the Duna.
Nowadays Tolna is a provincial town with 12.500 inhabitants, which is situated 6 km from the Duna, 15 km from Szekszárd, 15 km from the world-famous Gemenc forest and 130 km from Budapest. Huntsmen can find pleasant recreation in Gemenc and Gyulaj forests, while anglers can hope excellent catching at the back-water of the Duna driving below the town. Our Kayak-Canoe Club has already trained and still trains several world and European champions. Our town has all the advantages, which are characteristics of provincial towns, it can be easily approached by train and bus alike, too. Besides Hotel Thelena several pensions, guest-houses, pizza shops are at visitors' disposal. For 10 km round a popular holiday centre can be found in Fadd-Dombori, Volent creek and the new Duna bridge also are in the neighbourhood. The several days long Thelena Festival organised annually in August and the mental-hygienic programs of Health-Month in November are known all over the country. Besides the programs it is well worth seeing Local History Exhibition, the Silk Museum, Martinek's Memorial House, Blue Dyeing Workshop still functioning and workshops - open for every visitor - of our potter and basket maker artist-craftsmen.
