Description of objectLa Maison Tranquille is perfect for exploring the surrounding countryside. Ideal for walking, cycling, climbing, rafting, canoeing, fishing, bird watching and of course skiing in the winter. If all that sounds too exhausting, why not just relax and unwind in the wonderful rural surroundings? This year the Tour de France passes our village not once but twice! It is also the 150th anniversary of the apparitions at near by Lourdes.
A visit to this quiet oasis of calm will truly leave you feeling restored and ready to face the world again.

Town: France, The Pyrenees, GerdeGerde nestles in the foothills of the Pyrenees on the east bank of the sparkling River Adour which carries the melt water from the mountains to the south through the fertile Campan valley. Our house and orchard garden provide wonderful views of the near mountains of the Parc National des Pyrenees dominated by the Pic du Midi (2,877m). The village is situated on the outskirts of an elegant spa town, Bagneres-de-Bigorre. The town has restaurants, a market selling local produce, an amazing swimming pool, art galleries, a cinema, and of course the spa for which the town is famous.
Gerde is approximately two kilometres from Bagneres-de-Bigorra and is easily reached on foot in fifteen minutes. The village has a small shop selling local farm produce and a restaurant that uses local produce to produce wonderful traditional dishes.

Additional InformationThe cottage is decorated in a traditional French country style, There is a choice of two bedrooms. Each has electric heating, television, tea and coffee making facilities, fan, hairdryer, extra blankets and pillows.
Bedroom one is on the first floor and has a double bed, seating area and Juliet balcony. This room is not en-suite, there is a seperate WC right next door to the bedroom, the bathroom is two doors down comprising a shower and basin.
Bedroom Two is a very large attic room with a king-size bed (plus an additional single if needed), seating area, tv, desk and en-suite bathroom comprising shower, wc, basin and bath. This room has views of the Pic de Midi.
Through a courtyard at the rear of the property is our large orchard garden with fruit trees and a marquee with seating area and fantastic views of the surrounding countryside.
Breakfast can be served in your room or in the dining room. In the summer you might like to enjoy your breakfast in the garden. You can choose to have continental breakfast consisting of croissants, home-baked bread, home-made confiture, fruit juice and fresh brewed coffee/tea. Alternatively you might like to try our chickens fresh laid eggs instead of the croissants.
